The Dryden boys golf team improved to 10–0 on the season by defeating Southern Cayuga 201–263 on April 11 at Elm Tree Golf Course. Connor Smith shot two under par and a total score of 33 in the match, which were personal bests for him. Zach Sinnott and Jack Whyte also set new personal bests when they both shot 44’s. Kevin Gardner shot the second-lowest score on the team with a 37. Patrick O’Neill shot a 43.

Several local boys and girls outdoor track and field teams competed at the Marathon Spring Fling High School Invitational on April 11 at Marathon.

Lansing’s Catalina Zaloj finished in first place in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.70 seconds. Zaloj’s teammate, Ellie Howell, finished just behind her in second with a time of 17.96 seconds. Spencer-Van Etten’s Jenna Squier clocked in at 18.67 seconds, which placed her in third. Squier also finished in second place in the high jump with a mark of 4’8”.

Zaloj also won the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:10.80, and the high jump with a mark of five feet. Her teammate, Hana Thibault, finished in second place in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:18.25. Howell came in first place in the triple jump with a distance of 31’8.25”. Her teammate, Teresa Garcia, finished in second place with a distance of 30’2.50”.

Dryden’s Scott Vincent finished in first place in the triple jump with a distance of 40’4”. Lansing’s George Taylor and Ethan Burt came in second and third with distances of 37’8.25” and 36’3.25”, respectively. Burt won the pole vault with a mark of 12 feet, and sprung for a second-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 5’8”. Groton’s Jay VanValkenburg came in third with a mark of 5’6”. Taylor won the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 17.38 seconds. His teammate, Miles Kimball, finished in third place with a time of 19.30 seconds. Dryden’s Kyle Brown earned the silver with a time of 17.60 seconds. Brown earned a first-place finish in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.89. Taylor tallied a second-place time of 1:04.52.

In the 100 meter dash, Groton’s Jaylyn Comstock crossed the finish line in first with a time of 14.31 seconds. Spencer-Van Etten’s Ryleigh Clark finished in second with a time of 14.65 seconds. Dryden’s Emma Park-Miller recorded the third-fastest time of 14.71 seconds. Clark finished atop the podium in the long jump after she tallied a distance of 14’9.50”. She also earned a bronze in the triple jump with a distance of 28’9.75”. Lansing’s Gwen Gisler chalked up a second-place distance of 13’10.75” in the event.

Gisler won the pole vault with a mark of 10 feet. Her teammate, Kiara Tornusciolo, earned a silver in the event with a mark of nine feet. Spencer-Van Etten’s Levi Mickelson won the 1,600 meter run with a time of 4:51.67. Lansing’s Jack Thomas finished in second place with a time of 4:53.61. Mickelson finished in second place in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:10.88. Thomas raced for a third-place finish with a time of 2:15.74.

In the 1,500 meter run, Lansing’s Catie Eisenhut bested the field with a top time of 5:04.33. Lansing’s Dakota Edwards finished in second place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.22 seconds. Edwards also won the long jump with a distance of 19’8”. Eisenhut won the 800 meter run with a time of 2:32.35. Her teammate, McKenzie Stark finished in second place with a time of 2:39.97.

Groton’s Lauren Reeves was the victor in the 200 meter dash, sprinting for a time of 29.23 seconds. Comstock finished in third place with a time of 29.64 seconds. Dryden’s Emma Butler clocked in at 29.33 seconds, which earned her a second-place finish.

In the girls 400 meter run, Spencer- Van Etten’s Andrea Douglas took home the bronze with a time of 1:08.13. Dryden’s Steven Morrow finished in third place in the boys 400 meter run with a time of 55.36 seconds. Dryden’s Emily Miller won the 3,000 meter run with a time of 11:14.04. Lansing’s Emmaline Jackson finished in second place with a time of 11:50.68. In the 3,200 meter race, Dryden’s Jackson Crocker finished in first place with a time of 11:07.98. Groton’s Brennan Brockway ran for a third-place time of 12:36.53. Dryden’s Spencer Strickland tallied a first-place time of 11:41.80 in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. Lansing’s Teddy Brenner finished with a time of 12:14.50 to place second in the event.

In the boys shot put, Dryden’s Michael Cavanaugh threw for a first-place mark of 37’3.50”. Hiram Hackworth recorded a third-place mark of 33’8.50”. Dryden’s Teghan Garris won the girls shot put with a mark of 31’5.75”. Sindiswa Pinckney tallied a third-place mark of 29’1.25”. Garris also finished in first place in the discus throw with a mark of 81’11”. Her teammate, Callie Tenkate, placed in third after throwing for a distance of 64’1”. Spencer-Van Etten’s Christian Kunzman topped the field in the discus throw with a mark of 105’1”. Hackworth and teammate Logan Lancaster finished in second and third place with marks of 91’2” and 86’10”, respectively. Lansing’s Sam Panzer posted a third-place time of 24.61 seconds in the 200 meter dash. Kinsley Jacobs finished in third place in the 2,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 8:21.86.
