Dryden scored two goals in the second half to defeat Marathon, 3-1, at Dryden High School Thursday afternoon in IAC girls soccer action.
Marathon struck first with a goal 15 minutes in by Avery Barber.
Three minutes later Kerri Daley got her first of two on an assist by Alex Brotherton that tied the game. It stayed that way into the break.
Daley scored the second on an assist by Ashleigh Scheidweiler and Scheidweiler added the third unassisted.
The Lions had 11 shots and the defense had another strong game, head coach Nichole Keator wrote in an email, by keeping Marathon to four.
Dryden also led in corners, 6-1.
Sarah Westcott made two saves for Dryden and Allport had one for Dryden. Marathon's keeper had five saves.
Dryden (6-2, 5-0) will host Trumansburg Saturday in a continuation of the postponed game from Sept. 13. The teams played a 0-0 game through 32 minutes when thunder and lightning put a pause on the game.
