New York State Police are asking the public for help investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a liquor store in the Town Of Ithaca Wednesday night.
Police say that around 7:37 p.m. on Wednesday evening, officers responded to the report of an armed robbery at Top Shelf Liquor Store on Danby Road in the Town of Ithaca. According to a news release, the suspect entered the store, displayed a handgun and left with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect was last seen walking north toward the City of Ithaca.
The suspect is described as a black male, tall and with a heavy build. Police say he was last seen wearing a colored hat, dark colored jacket, blue jeans and boots. According to the news release, the suspect also had a raspy voice and covered his face during the robbery with a white bandana.
The State Police were assisted at the scene by Ithaca Police Department, Ithaca College Public Safety, Cornell University Police Department and a K9 dog from the Schuyler County Sheriff's Office.
