  3. Three Ithaca businesses caught selling booze to underage customers: The New York State Liquor Authority conducted a sting operation in Tompkins County, snaring three Ithaca businesses selling alcohol to underage customers.

  7. County medical director clarifies new school vaccination rules: Tompkins County Medical Director William Klepack has penned a letter to the editor aimed at clearing up uncertainty over the new vaccination rules that were enacted earlier this summer by Governor Andrew Cuomo.

Attic Band: Local group Wallace And The Apes makes professional debut: Venture three stories into the Fall Creek house and you’ll find a band of young musicians jammed into a muggy attic studio: Cody Zusman on lead vocals and guitar, Wallace Alpern on bass, Roman Predmore on drums, Alec Simmons on keyboards, Felix Zifchock on washboard, and Luke Monaghan on trumpet, known as Wallace and The Apes. 

  9. R2P’s ‘Mamma Mia’ is ‘inspired by joy’: Mamma Mia” has it all; humor and heartbreak, rejection and redemption, and a charming, unexpected twist at the end. So I was eager to check out a rehearsal of the upcoming Running 2 Places production of the musical, which opens Aug. 8.

  10. Van Etten to sell town hall: The Town of Van Etten plans to sell its current town hall and move into the former Van Etten Village offices and voted unanimously to do so at a  Van Etten Town Board July 11.
