New York State Police in Newfield arrested Natasha L. Thomas, age 38, of Brooktondale, NY, on Oct. 5 for the misdemeanor of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and criminal possession of marijuana in the fourth degree. Timothy M. Fuller, age 19 of Ithaca, NY was also arrested for the misdemeanor of obstructing governmental administration.
A state trooper initiated a traffic stop after she observed a vehicle and traffic violation in the vehicle that Thomas was operating. Throughout the course of an investigation, the trooper found that Thomas had an active arrest warrant and advised Thomas she was under arrest for the warrant charge. Thomas was uncooperative but was ultimately taken into custody where she was later discovered to be in possession of suspected LSD and marijuana.
While the trooper was attempting to arrest Thomas, Fuller is accused of attempting to obstruct the trooper from arresting Thomas, which subsequently resulted in Fuller’s arrest. The trooper was assisted by other troopers and another officer from the New York State Park Police. Thomas and Fuller are both scheduled to appear in the city of Ithaca court on Oct. 16.
