This man owns a dog that bit a man at Pete's Coin Laundry in the City of Ithaca

The Tompkins County Health Department is asking residents to locate a dog that bit a person inside Pete’s Coin Laundry in the City of Ithaca. The bite occurred on Oct. 9 around 6:20 p.m. The dog in question is described as being brown and black, resembling a larger beagle with graying on the face, suggesting it’s an older dog. The owner of the dog is a 5’10” male with short dark hair as seen in the above photo. The dog came out from under a table and bit a person.

The department is looking to verify vaccination status and the health of the biting dog over a ten-day period. If the dog can be found and observed to be healthy by the department, the risk of a rabies infection can be ruled out. Post treatment exposure for the person who was bitten will not be deemed necessary. Anyone with information regarding this dog’s whereabouts is urged to call the Tompkins County Environmental Health Division at (607) 274-6688.
