The Bookery, a beloved local bookstore in DeWitt Mall, will close its doors in November after a closing sale. The store, which has been a downtown staple for over 40 years, announced the decision in a Facebook post earlier this week.
Sales marking the end of the store's run will begin on Monday, Sept. 16. According to the post, all inventory will be 30 percent off at least starting that day. The store's hours are Monday-Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
"Stop in and chat with founder Jack Goldman and the staff, talk about local history and hopes for the future, and find some books you've been meaning to read or give to loved ones," the post concludes.
