Ithaca police arrested Breon Brooks on Nov. 24 after stopping him for an alleged vehicle and traffic violation. According to police, officers attempted to arrest Brooks for criminal possession of a controlled substance but he allegedly attempted to flee the area on foot. He was taken into custody moments later after a short foot pursuit. Brooks was charged with resisting arrest, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree and one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree. He was remanded to Tompkins County Jail without bail.
On Nov. 25, police arrested Mario A. Graves, of Ithaca, after allegedly finding him in possession of a stolen loaded 9mm Taurus Arms handgun during a traffic stop. Graves was taken into custody without incident and charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree and two traffic infractions. He was remanded to the Tompkins County Jail without bail.
