Pickin’ In The Pasture Bluegrass Festival will present several of the top bands in the country at this year’s 22nd annual event. The festival attracts bluegrass fans from all over the Northeast and Canada to the Alexander family’s sheep farm in the small rural town of Lodi, NY. On Wednesday, August 21st the gate will open for free camping to those purchasing 4 day weekend tickets. The stage show goes on Thursday, August 22nd through Saturday, August 24th and concludes with a gospel show on Sunday morning. Those attending get to experience some of the best professional bluegrass stage shows as well as hanging out at late night jam sessions in the campground.
There are bluegrass festivals every weekend across the country, but one thing that sets Pickin’ In The Pasture apart is its setting here in the beautiful Finger Lakes. People are able to combine some of the best bluegrass music in the country with other recreational activities our area has to offer - the wine trails, State Parks, National Forest, and the local Amish community offerings are popular with those attending the festival.
This year Pickin’ In The Pasture is proud to feature a top international touring band, Jeff Scroggins & Colorado (pictured). Bluegrass fans are also excited that the Department of Defense has chosen Pickin’ In The Pasture to be part of The US Navy Bluegrass Band National Tour this year. The band Carolina Blue has soared to the top of the bluegrass scene and will be sharing their talent in The Pasture along with numerous other professional-level bluegrass bands.
