November 19

Deputies arrested Christine R Horst, 33, of 1896 Storms Rd Lyons NY, for Harassment in the 2nd degree and Endangering the welfare of a child. It is alleged Horst struck a Town of Waterloo resident while holding a six month old child during a domestic dispute. Horst was released on appearance tickets and is to appear in the Town of Junius Court on December 27th 2011, to answer the charges.

December 02

Sheriff Deputies arrested Ronald L. Castle Jr. age 45 of 57 Stevenson St Apt. 1 Seneca Falls, NY on a Violation of Probation Warrant, issued out of the Town of Seneca Falls. Castle was arraigned before the Town of Waterloo Court and was committed to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 cash or $1000 bail bond. He is to reappear before the Town of Seneca Falls Court on December 07/11 at 10:00 am to answer to the charge.

    On December 2nd 2011, Deputies arrested a 14 year old female juvenile for falsely reporting an incident after she pulled a fire alarm at a Town of Varick facility.

    The juvenile was released on appearance tickets and is to appear in the Seneca County Probation Dept. on December 6th 2011 at 10:00am to answer the charges.

    Deputies arrested Chad C. Weaver age 24 of 1844 Zwick Road Waterloo for Violation of Probation. Weaver was arraigned before Junius Town Justice Laird and committed to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of no bail. Weaver will have to appear in Seneca Falls Town Court on December 14th 2011 at 9 a.m.

December 3

Sheriff’s Investigators arrested Ivor O. Williams, age 23, of 7655 Rt. 89 in Ovid for 3 counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

    Williams is accused of possessing 2 sawed off shotguns and a semi-automatic pistol while at a Town of Ovid residence. Williams was issued an appearance ticket for the Town of Ovid Court and is scheduled to appear in court on December 19/11 at 7:00pm.

December 07

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports Investigators arrested Michael P. Belanger, age 31 of an unknown address, for failing to report a change of address, as a level three sex offender, a class E felony. Belanger was also charged with failing to verify his address, with the Sheriff’s office, a class E felony. A level three sex offender is required to report an address change with in 10 days and has to verify their address in person every 90 days. Belanger was evicted in November and did not change his address and failed to report for his verification. Belanger was arrested at a business in Ontario County and arraigned in Town of Fayette Court where he was committed to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in Lieu of $750 cash or $1500 bail bond.

    Deputies arrested Jasmine G. Hyer, age 18, of 85 Washington Street Waterloo, for petit larceny. It is alleged that Hyer stole an item from a Town of Seneca Falls business in the amount of $2.25. Hyer was released on an appearance ticket and is to appear before the Town of Seneca Falls Court on December 29th, 2011 at 10:00am to answer the charge.

December 08

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division arrested Timothy P. Ryan, 30, of 81 Virginia Street, Waterloo, New York, on two counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the third degree, Class B Felonies, and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree, Class B Felonies, following an investigation into alleged drug sales. It is alleged that Ryan sold heroin in the Village of Waterloo on two separate occasions. Ryan was arraigned in the Seneca County Court on December 15, 2011 and remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on $10,000 cash bail/$20,000 secured bond. Ryan is to reappear in the Seneca County Court on January 19, 2011 at 9:30am.

    Deputies arrested Elizabeth D. Hoecker, age 18, of 9 Phoenix St., Canandaigua and Kaitlyn M. Bosco, 19, also of 9 Phoenix St Canandaigua NY on December 8/11 for one count of Petit Larceny each. The charges stem from an incident in the Town of Seneca Falls where Hoecker and Bosco stole items from a Seneca Falls business. Both Hoecker and Bosco were issued appearance tickets to appear in the Town of Seneca Falls Court in front of Justice Mahoney on December 22/11 at 10am.JGN#113

December 9

Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Edward J. Roma age 31 of 2022 Balsley Road for Petit Larceny. It is alleged that Roma took merchandise valued at $54.00 from a Town of Seneca Falls business. Roma was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Seneca Falls Town Court on January 19 at 0900 hrs.

December 10

Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports on December 10, 2011 Sheriff Deputies arrested Kayla M Porter, age 20 of 1965 Ninefoot Rd Waterloo for one count Petit Larceny. It is alleged that Porter stole merchandise totaling $35.94 from a Seneca Falls business. Porter was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear at the Seneca Falls Town Court on January 12, 2012 to answer the charge.

    Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Steven L. Gary, age 37, of 2 Fall St. Apt #3, Seneca Falls, NY and charged him with one count of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th. It is alleged that on 11/29/2011 Gary was found to be in possession of a Salvation Army Kettle stolen from a Town of Seneca Falls business. He was arraigned at the Town of Waterloo Court and was committed to the custody of the Sheriff in lieu of $500/$1000 secure bond. He is scheduled to appear at the Town of Seneca Falls Court on 01/11/2012 at 0900hrs.

December 11

 Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Gregory M. Stiver’s age 22 of 17 Twomey Place, Geneva, NY following a traffic stop on Stark St. in the Village of Waterloo. Stiver’s was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marihuana after marihuana was discovered within the vehicle he was operating. Stiver’s was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear at the Village of Waterloo Court on 12/28/2011 at 9:00am.

    Deputies arrested David L. Scesny, 23, of 320 E. Main Street Waterloo on the charge of Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. The arrest stems from a suspicious person complaint on Main Street in the Village of Waterloo. Scesny was located in the area by Deputies and found to be in possession of marijuana. Scesny was issued an appearance ticket for 12/28/11at 9:00am in the Village of Waterloo Court to answer the charges.

December 12

Deputies arrested Dennis M. DeRenzo age 22 of 90 Locke Street Clyde and Mark H. Bowman II age 26 of the same address and charged them with Harassment 2nd stemming from a physical fight at residence in the Town of Seneca Falls.

    It is alleged that DeRenzo and Bowman got into a physical altercation with an individual at the residence, a bystander then successfully broke the fight up. DeRenzo then turned on that person and subjected him to unlawful physical contact. DeRenzo and Bowman were arraigned before Town of Seneca Falls Justice Mahoney and committed to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 cash or $1000 bond. An “A” order of protection was issued for both victims. Neither victim sustained injuries that required medical attention. Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted at the scene by the New York State Police.

    Investigators arrested Skyler T. Bailey, age 22 of 193 Sheridan Parkway Geneva, NY on a charge of Promoting Prison Contraband in the 2nd degree, a class A misdemeanor. The charge stems from Bailey bringing an amount of marijuana into the Seneca County Correctional Facility. Skyler was issued an appearance ticket and is to appear in Town of Romulus court on 12-23-11 at 10:00 am to answer the charges.

December 13

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division arrested Curtis M. Burdick, 53, of 2 Fall Street Apt. 17, Seneca Falls, New York, on two counts of Criminal Diversion of Prescription Medications in the fourth degree. It is alleged that Burdick sold prescription medications on two separate occasions. Burdick was arraigned in the Seneca Falls Town Court and remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on $1,000 cash bail/$2,000 secured bond. Burdick is to reappear in the Seneca Falls Town Court on December 28th, 2011 at 9am.

December 14

Sheriff Deputies arrested, Pamela S. Merilahti age 50 of 8612 Lodi Covert TNLN Rd Interlaken, NY on an arrest warrant for Failure to appear at the Town of Lodi Court. Merilahti was arraigned before the Town of Lodi Court, committed in lieu of $ 500 cash, $1000 bail bond to the Seneca County Correctional Facility. Merilahti is to reappear at the Town of Lodi Court on 01/19/12 at 1000 hrs.

 

December 20

Seneca County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a hunting incident that occurred on Dec 20 2011, in the Town of Junius that sent a Waterloo man to Strong Memorial Hospital with a gun shot wound to the neck. Deputies report that Jarrod A. Ticconi, age 26 of Waterloo, NY was raccoon hunting with his father Joseph J.Ticconi, age 53 of Seneca Falls and his brother Joseph J. Ticconi II, age 31 of Savannah NY, in a wooded area just west of Bedell Rd, in the Town of Junius at about 1017 PM when the incident occurred. The three men report that after treeing a raccoon the elder Ticconi attempted to harvest the animal when the gun had a miss fire. The elder Ticconi had reloaded the weapon, a 22 rifle and was raising it to take a second attempt at the animal when the gun discharged and the round stuck Jarrod Ticconi in the neck. Ticconi was treated at the scene by North Seneca Ambulance and flown by Mercy Flight to Strong for treatment. He is listed in guarded condition at this time. Junius Fire Department assisted at the scene with the landing zone. The NYS DEC is assisting the Sheriff’s Office with the on going investigation.

December 21

Seneca County Investigators arrested Thomas D. Jensen, age 54, of 50 Chapel Street Seneca Falls, NY 13148 on a charge of Criminal Mischief 3rd, a class E felony. The charge stems from Jensen damaging the door at the Seneca County DMV. Jensen was issued an appearance ticket and is to appear in the Village of Waterloo court on 01-11-12 at 9:00 am to answer the charges.

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a theft of a large amount of roofing materials from a Village of Lodi residence that occurred on December 12th 2011. Taken were shingles and other roofing materials. Anyone with any information is requested to call the Seneca County Criminal Investigation Division at 315-220-3240. Callers may remain anonymous.
